Overview
Aging deteriorates and isolates. It strips away our abilities and can leave even the most hearty among us alone, vulnerable and insecure. Without the right support, it can erode our independence, fade our sense of purpose and strip away hope.
To assist the vulnerable elderly in our community with support and to promote independent living, Seniors First provides the following critical programs and services:
MEAL PROGRAMS
1 in 6 seniors struggles with hunger and may not know where their next meal will come from. Seniors First offers the following options to help older adults (60+) get the nutrition they need.
Meals on Wheels
Home delivered meals and case management to home bound Orange Country seniors, 60+, up to 5 days per week.
Emergency Meals on Wheels
The same Meals on Wheels services provided for up to 30 days to a senior facing a crisis situation.
Neighborhood Lunch Program with Transportation
A nutritious lunch, social activities and round trip transportation to Orange County community sites for seniors 60+, up to 5 days per week.
Community Food Pantry
Our food pantry is open to anyone in need the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 9am-11am. There is no application or qualifying process. All distributions are pre-packaged and similar in content.
ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS
In-Home Care
Help with activities of daily living through a case-managed package of services (e.g. personal care, homemaking, companionship, respite for caregivers.) for homebound seniors 60+ in Orange, Seminole and Polk Counties.
Stepping Stone Medical Equipment Bank
Refurbished, durable medical equipment for adults living with disabilities in Orange,
Seminole and Osceola Counties.
Guardianship
Public Guardian to incapacitated adults of limited financial means who lack a private guardian in Orange and Seminole Counties. We offer 8-hour court mandated guardianship classes for individuals seeking guardianship of a friend or family member. Learn more here.
